A cleric issuing a fatwa against an actress for visiting a Hindu temple is the kind of story that sets everyone shouting before anyone has checked what actually happened. From what the report says, Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi wants her to repent, and that is about as far as the facts go for me. I would like to know who has real authority in that dispute and whether any of this changes how Muslims or Hindus actually live near each other (I am not holding my breath). Sounds like a lot of noise for one visit to a temple.
